Welcome to The Friends of WPA

The Friends of Woodlands Primary Academy is a non-profit organisation made up of parents, friends, and staff with the role to encourage closer links between home and school.

We are a group of volunteers who are dedicated to raising money and make a difference to our school.

We undertake fundraising work with the help of our community champions, which provides an opportunity for everyone to get together to have some fun, and support and enhance each child’s time at Woodlands.

Previously a PTA –  (Parent Teacher Association) we have expanded into a registered charity to allow us to leverage grants and sponsorship so that we can deliver even more fantastic projects for the benefit of the school.

Our Fundraising Story

At Friends of Woodlands Primary Academy, our journey has been filled with incredible support from our community. Through various events like our famous colour run, discos, easter and pumpkin trails, we have raised funds that directly impact the 480 children at Woodlands Primary. These efforts have helped us provide new playground equipment, educational trips, and much-needed resources that enhance our student’s learning experiences. Each event, large or small, is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together for our children.

Let’s continue growing something great!

Our Teams

Comittee

The comittee is comprised of the elected roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and a core group of decision makers who hold votes.

All of the decisions for dates, times and goals are cooked up here!

Planning

The Planning Team assist in the planning and logistics of our events by finding suppliers, coordinating with the other teams, sourcing silly hats, DJ’s, or face paint, and making sure we’re all set to have a good time.

Social

The social team help spread the word by actively promoting the events via posters, social media and other channels.

It’s their job to make sure EVERYONE knows how amazing our events are!

Volunteers

These wonderful bunch attend the events, help with set up and take down, man stalls, take photos and just generally have a good time seeing smiles on faces. We try to have a rota system so they can enjoy the event too
